O Chefe do Executivo manda publicar, nos termos do n.º 1 do artigo 6.º da Lei n.º 3/1999 da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau, por ordem do Governo Popular Central, o Acordo entre o Governo da República Popular da China e o Governo da República Unida da Tanzânia relativo ao estabelecimento de um Consulado Honorário da República Unida da Tanzânia na Região Administrativa Especial de Hong Kong da República Popular da China, assinado em Pequim, em 8 de Abril de 1998, nos seus textos autênticos em línguas chinesa e inglesa.
Em conformidade com o disposto no referido Acordo, a área de jurisdição consular do Consulado Honorário da República Unida da Tanzânia na Região Administrativa Especial de Hong Kong da República Popular da China inclui também, após o Governo da República Popular da China ter voltado a assumir o exercício da soberania sobre Macau, em 20 de Dezembro de 1999, a Região Administrativa Especial de Macau.

The Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, out of the common desire to further develop the friendly relations and enhance the consular ties between the two countries, and in accordance with Article 157 of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, have reached the following agreement on the establishment by the United Republic of Tanzania of an honorary consulate in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the People’s Republic of China:
The Government of the People’s Republic of China agrees to the establishment by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania of an honorary consulate in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as its consular district. The consular district will also include the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China after the Government of the People’s Republic of China resume the exercise of sovereignty over Macao. And before that, with the consent of the Portuguese Macao government, the honorary consulate of the United Republic of Tanzania may look after the consular affairs related to Macao.
The honorary consul of the United Republic of Tanzania in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China shall exercise the consular functions in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 24 April, 1963 and the relevant laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China.
The Government of the People’s Republic of China, in accordance with its relevant laws and regulations, shall accord the necessary assistance and facilities to the honorary consul of the United Republic of Tanzania in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China in the exercise of the consular functions.
The two sides shall properly handle consular matters between them in the spirit of friendly consultation, and in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and international practice.
The honorary consul of the United Republic of Tanzania in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China shall be a national of either side or a third country; but not a stateless person, and must be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
The United Republic of Tanzania shall not appoint any honorary consul, once it has appointed a career consul to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
The present Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature.
Done in Beijing on 8 April, 1998 in duplicate in the Chinese and English languages, both texts being equally authentic.
